ERIK VAN ACHTER
Erik Van Achter studied Modern languages ( English/Dutch) at the University of Ghent (BA hon). He holds a master degree Portuguese Literature from the University of Coimbra (Portugal) and wrote his PhD on short story theory for the University of Utrecht (The Netherlands). He did his postdoctoral research at Brown University (R.I. –USA) and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT- MA - USA). He regularly contributes to Forma Breve – Journal of the University of Aveiro and the Estudos Literários, journal of the University of the Centre for literary Studies of Coimbra University. He is a member of the scientific council (Letters) in Aveiro and Coimbra (Portugal). In his professional life, Erik teaches English and Academic Writing at the Faculty of Applied Engineering Sciences of KU Leuven.

DAAN PELEMAN
Daan is a doctoral researcher in the field of digital image correlation (DIC) at KU Leuven. His doctoral research investigates the design of a portable and wireless DIC setup using laser projected speckle patterns for fast damage identification and shape reconstruction. Daan studied at KU Leuven and California Polytechnic State and graduated with a M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Experimental Mechanics in 2018. After graduation, he started working as a researcher for the Mechanics of Materials, Products and Processes (MEM2P) research group.
